Day with Danger

'Where could they be?' was the thought that ran through the young man's mind from all day and night to day again. Even though it was only his third life, he already grew a huge dislike to this part of each incarnation. Having to search all over again for them... Being without them was what he dreaded most. He missed the rude insulting comments from his favorite demoness, Valinia... And then Riot, the devil himself. Oh what were they doing without him? Did they already find each other? Were they looking for him? This thought brightened the man, his grin spreading across his handsome face while his dark purple eyes scanned the area his search led him too.

He stopped in front of the inn, taking in as much about it that his patience allowed him too. He wasn't one to observe everything that came into view... just the tiny things so he wouldn't forget it later on if he needed it again. He tilted his head to the side, his hair falling within his view while he placed his hands in his pockets. Maybe he could find some kind of 'Fun' here to get his mind off the worry of his companions.

He walked to the door and opened it, eager to see who he would find in here. He opened the door slightly at first, peeking through the crack as if it was a place he wasn't suppose to be. But soon he opened it wider and stepped in, his eyes darting about again but so quickly he probably wouldn't remember it later. If there was someone there, he didn't pay them any mind as he walked the lobby carefully.

Maeve watched the striking man enter with appreciative eyes, slightly surprised when he didn't approach the desk, but rather walked around the lobby. after a few moments she spoke. "sir? Is there anything I can help you with?"

It took a moment for the words to actually reach Curse, if those words could be seen in the air it would be a scene where they bounced on the outside of his head before entering his ear. He turned upon hearing someone's voice and seeing Maeve only made him smile more. He moved to the front desk, taking his hands from his pockets and rested them on the desk and stared at her for a long moment as his dark eyes seemed to burn a hole through her. He looked as if determining something. But eventually broke the eerie silence.

"Is it always so quiet here?" He asked, disregarding her question as he raised a brow and then relaxed it.

Maeve was unaware that there was anything disturbing about the young man's gaze or demeanor. Quite the opposite, she was rapt, hanging on to his every move and word. "no, she said with a wry grin, we have some pirate women in at the moment, and they only just went up to bed. Astonishing how much noise those three were making." she stopped, realizing that the pirates were only marginally relevent.

Once again, the man only stared. Yet, his gaze didn't last as long as before, he blinked and looked down to the desk, holding his chin up with the palm of his hand. "How boring..." He said out loud, his view lifting and falling on the canid again. There was only her left, not that he was complaining. He was happy to know someone else was around. But pirates? That was uncommon and sounded so interesting at the same time.

Maybe he should've came her earlier. He grinned at her. "Well, that's alright. At least I know this place has some life."

"there are other guests, but most are asleep and not as loud. And of course Nia's probably around someplace."she said, so distracted she didn't realize that he probably didn't know who or what Nia was.

He kept his grin, yet a child-like innocence was on his face as well, looking as if he had no idea what she talking about. His attention span hadn't changed with this incarnation. He also remained unaware to the fact that he was probably stressing Maeve as she spoke. Or he did, and just found it funny. Part of a game he was always playing with people, even when they didn't know.

"How funny… I think I like this place now. Do you have any rooms open still? He asked and then took some steps back from the desk, stretching. "Do you stay here too?" He looked around again. "Do you like being here?" He asked again, throwing more questions at her, maybe on purpose just to see if she would slip up.

Maeve was truely distracted by the devestatingly hansome man, "umm, yes" she said, typing him in, with more than a few misclicks and typos. "no, i live" she stopped as he interupted with his next question "yes, most of the time." especially now she thought, handing him a key to 315

He watched he try to answer his question and only found it entertaining. He walked back over to the desk and took the key by the loop of the keyring with a single finger. "Thank you." he said and holding it tightly in his hand.

"My name is Curse by the way." he said, pointing to the computer with his other hand, knowing she would have to put that in and giving her another smile. But instead of going to his room, he stayed where he was.

"So!" he suddenly said. "Anything special for the morning?"

Maeve's normal cleverness seemed to have dribbled out, and she gaped at him a moment be for entering the name and answering "nothing in particular, Jolic's setting up breakfast soon."

Though breakfast was nice, it still didn't do well. He poked out his bottom lip for a moment, as if unhappy with what she said. But changed the look afterwards. He wondered where the excitement was. It seemed this inn was the kind of place for the elderly folk.. then again he remembered the pirates. He wanted to meet them if he could. He didn't want to die of boredom before he found Riot and Val. He paused, remembering his friends and then realizing he may not be able to stay here long if he wanted to find them.

"Hmmm.." But he was sure he would find them, even if he did pause in-between his search for entertainment. His dark eyes found their way back to Maeve. "What's you're name?"

Her ears went back slightly when he scowled at her, but she answered his question with unseemly eagerness. "I'm Maeve" she said quickly

"Oh, you're name is nice." Curse answered as if it was nothing, but then again wasn't looking at her when he said so. His eyes were everywhere else as he walked in a circle for a few steps. He looked out the window when he stopped moving, actually realizing how late it really was. But he was so full of energy, he didn't know how to spend it all.. there was nothing outside and besides Maeve nothing really inside either.

He looked to the steps and then to his key. "Maybe i'll go check this room." he said and without another word made his way towards them.
